How we can help...Seminars
In the “early days”, I conducted the seminars by myself. Seminars started with just the Pinnacle Banks but grew to becoming a separate product for all clients. This was definitely a flywheel type of action as we might only have 10-15 people at some locations in the beginning.
At first, we would hold seminars in Grand Island and Omaha/Lincoln, Nebraska but then it grew to Rapid City and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In the mid-90’s, we also held a seminar in the Denver, Colorado and Des Moines, Iowa areas. The Denver market didn’t support the seminars as well as we had hoped plus we weren’t really as interested in picking up new clients there. We worked out an agreement with the Iowa Bankers Association (IBA) not to hold seminars in Iowa (not competing with them), but occasionally held seminars for the IBA.
In addition to our own seminars, I was asked to speak at the ABA’s Compliance School in October 2001 and have presented at the school at least once (but sometimes at 2 and 3 schools/year) ever since. The ABA asked me to present at their annual Regulatory Compliance Conference (RCC) in 2002. I have presented at every annual ABA RCC since then and Jerod Moyer has presented at the 2010 & 2013 RCC. In October 2013, I also began teaching at the ABA’s Graduate School. BCC has also presented for the IBA’s annual compliance conference since the late 1990’s and taught their week long Compliance Schools several times.
Additionally, BCC has had a long-standing relationship with several other state organizations and schools. These include the Center for Financial Training (St. Louis and Connecticut), Mississippi Valley Bankers Association and state banking associations in Nebraska (both NBA and ICBA), California, Montana, Kansas, Louisiana, and Connecticut.
Webinars
BCC has also been very involved in webinars for BankersOnline. We have presented hundreds of webinars for BOL since 2001.
In 2015 we began producing our own webinars and in 2016, we began offering webinars to TTS (Total Training Solutions) www.bankwebinars.com which is also marketed to about 25 state banking associations.
Blog
In January 2008 we launched our first blog. This has been a free product since it’s inception.
Newsletters
In June 2001, we started a free online newsletter. In 2009, we started charging a subscription fee for the newsletter.
DTRM’s
Our Desk Top Reference Manuals (both Lending and Deposit Operations) started as our seminar manuals. As regulations grew, there wasn’t time to cover everything that bankers wanted in a 2 or 3 day seminar. The seminar manuals became an outline and the DTRM’s became more narrative. We began selling these as a product around 2007 with an annual subscription for updates.
Forums
In January 2014, we held a free, 1 hour online chat. We were hoping for 200 bankers. 809 registered (with multiple people at many locations). We have offered a free Forum quarterly since.
Since 1993, the Team at Banker’s Compliance Consulting has been honored to serve our clients by providing in-bank reviews, phone & email consultation, resources and training. Our business model has always been to hire high quality consultants and provide top-notch service to you.
