OFAC Searches

David Dickinson

By David Dickinson

In our August 29, 2008, blog, we alerted you to the fact that the website http://www.ofaccompliance.com/ no longer offers free OFAC list searches.  We also provided you a couple of websites that allow you to check the OFAC list for free.  We were able find some additional resources, such as:

Brown & Company: http://ofac.brownandcompany.net/search.aspsearch file

Financial Industry Regulatory Authority:  http://apps.finra.org/RulesRegulation/OFAC/1/Default.aspx
(This one allows multiple searches (names) to be submitted at once.)

As we mentioned in August, another method is to simply download the OFAC list in Adobe and then use the search feature.  However, this list will be outdated the next time OFAC updates the list.  Using the two vendors above ensures always checking the most recent list.
