Consumer Help or Banker Headache?

David Dickinson

By David Dickinson

A few weeks ago I wrote a blog about how easy it will be for people to complain about bankers.  Now the OCC has designed a web site to assist customers with reporting concerns (read "complain") about OCC regulated banks.  Not to be outdone, the FRB designed a similar web site and announced it's release just last week.  Don't breathe too easy if you're not a national bank or regulated by the FRB. The websites have a link to the other regulator's websites and instructs the reader how to get assistance.

The "Help With My Bank" and "Consumer Help" websites do provide good information to customers (if they'll read it), but my concern is it makes it VERY easy to complain to the regulators about a bank or banker.  Good luck!
